Alex Winston
A month ago I got the itch to look up a couple old friends of mine from the U. Chris and I had Spanish together. He wrote the best music review column on campus, ironically for the most right wing paper, The Review.
He and his brother Drew are musicians that were in a couple different bands during my time in Ann Arbor. I'm not ashamed to say I was one of their biggest groupies. I'd see'em play at the Blind Pig and other A2 venues, and would follow them to Detroit on occasion. I was just starting out in photography, and would often bring my camera to their shows.
Anyway, I googled the brothers, and came up with a Myspace page for Alex Winston?! It turns out that they met up with Alex in the Detroit area, and they've been touring with her in the past year, opening for Ted Nugent!
So I got ahold of Chris and caught their show at the House of Blues when they passed through Chicago. This girl can ROCK! Very energetic show, I had a blast. However, I don't think I've gotten any better at shooting live shows.. :(
Seriously.. you should go buy her music. Now.

Yes, indeed he is! Did we talk about Mark going to U of D high? I didn't know that.. Nick, the other guitar player also went to UD.. small world!
